Consultation Services
Bringing clarity to complex situations
Sometimes the challenge isn't a lack of effort.
It's knowing which next step will make the greatest difference.
Whether you're a parent navigating your child's educational needs, a caregiver seeking guidance, or a professional looking for clinical consultation, it can be difficult to know where to begin when situations become complex. Consultation provides an opportunity to better understand concerns, explore options, and develop practical, individualized strategies grounded in evidence and experience.
At River House Psychology, we view consultation as a collaborative process. Our goal is to help families, educators, and professionals gain greater clarity, make informed decisions, and move forward with confidence.
When Consultation May Be Helpful
Guidance When You Need Another Perspective
You may be wondering:
How can I best support my child at home or school?
What accommodations or services should I request?
Does my child need an evaluation or therapy?
How do I navigate concerns with my child's school?
What strategies may be most effective for challenging behaviors?
How can I better understand my child's learning or emotional needs?
I'm feeling stuck. What should I do next?
Would a second opinion help clarify the situation?
How can I support a client with a complex presentation?
What resources or referrals would be most appropriate?
Consultation provides thoughtful guidance tailored to your unique questions, helping you move from uncertainty to a clear plan of action.

Answering your lingering questions
Assessment consultation provides the clarity and guidance needed to confidently move forward after a psychological evaluation.
Whether you've completed an assessment with us or elsewhere (including schools or other psychologists), we'll help you understand the results, discuss what they mean for you or your child, answer your questions, and translate recommendations into practical next steps for home, school, work, and everyday life.
Parenting & Family Consultation
Support for relationships and communication
Parent and family consultation helps caregivers build stronger relationships with their children while developing practical tools to support behavior, emotional regulation, and healthy development.
Using the Positive Discipline approach developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen and Lynn Lott, families learn strategies that foster connection, teach responsibility, encourage problem-solving, and create respectful, consistent routines that support lasting change.
